When and where can I take PLAB?

PREREQUISITES
  1. An  acceptable primary medical qualification or MBBS LISTED in world Directory of Medical Schools & be able to demonstrate that you are eligible for the qualification to be conferred.
  2. Competency in knowledge of English by doing the academic version of IELTS.

Part 1
The GMC  runs the exam four times a year in the UK and twice a year at a number of centres overseas. Exam dates and venues are shown on our test dates page and available places are shown in GMC Online.
Examinations in the UK close one week before the exam date. Those overseas close four weeks before the exam date. Closing dates are shown on our test dates page.

Part 2 examinations are held regularly throughout the year in London . Places are usually open to book about four to six months before the examination date.Training if required can be available at Manchester

Registered For GMC
You can apply for provisional registration and a licence to practise as soon as you’ve passed Part 2. Applications usually take between two and four weeks to be granted.
Full registration with a licence is granted if you’ve completed your internship or House Officer training. If you’ve not, you can only apply for provisional registration which restricts you to practise only in UK Foundation Year 1 (F1) training posts.
